Revelle Hancock, age 80, of Jeffersonville, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 26, 2025. Born to the late Charles and Clara (Sutherland) Garrison, Revelle lived each day with a heart full of grace, faith, and kindness, leaving an indelible mark on everyone she met.
For more than three decades, Revelle dedicated her service to Clark Memorial Hospital, where she retired as the Surgical Unit Secretary. Her steady presence, compassion, and genuine care touched the lives of countless coworkers, patients, and families, who found comfort in her warm smile and gentle spirit.
Beyond her career, Revelle’s true ministry was found in her kitchen and her church. Known for her extraordinary gift of baking, she delighted friends and loved ones with her famous banana nut bread—often made by the dozens and shared as an expression of love. She poured her heart into her faith as a lifelong member of Christ Gospel Church, where she served faithfully, prayed diligently, and embraced others as family. Revelle was the kind of woman who opened her home and her heart to many, becoming an adoptive mom, grandma, and aunt to those in need of love and belonging.
Revelle was preceded in death by her sister, Glynell Hall, and brothers, Waynas and Wendell Garrison. She leaves behind her beloved husband of 57 years, Robert A. Hancock; her son, Jason Hancock (Tamara); her treasured grandson, Edward Hancock; her brother, Kenneth Garrison; her sisters: Wynell Alcorn, Vernell Hill, Evelle Olson, Laverne Goins, Louise Allred, Rachael Reed, and Sybil Childers; along with a host of nieces, nephews, and dear friends who will carry her memory forward.
Her life was a reflection of love, faith, and generosity. To know Revelle was to know kindness, to be welcomed, and to feel cared for. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered with gratitude and love.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 3, 2025, in the chapel of the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Madison. Rev. David Johnson of Christ Gospel Church will be officiating.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Parkway, Jeffersonville.
