Rex Phillips, age 64, passed away September 7, 2023. He was born in Jeffersonville, IN on November 16, 1958 to the late Howard “Baldy” and Reba Phillips.
After a 30 year career as a Chemical Operator, he continued working as an Electrician until he retired in 2022. He enjoyed his retirement fishing, watching IU basketball, spending time with Xander, as well as all of his family and friends. In his youth, he enjoyed many years as a Boy Scout, including summers working scout camp. He has many fond memories participating in activities with TKE fraternity, where he formed many cherished friendships.
In addition to his parents, Rex is preceded in death by his brothers, Charles and Carlos Napier, his sister in spirit, Helena Redmon, and nephews, Pat Day and Mitchell O’Bryan.
He is survived by his wife, Trish Phillips, daughters, Jessica and Amanda Phillips, grandson, Xander Martin, sister, Nancy (Joe) Voigner, sisters-in-law, Phyllis Napier and Janice Napier and several beloved family members on his wife’s side, as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends.
His memorial visitation will be held 2-7 p.m. Sunday, September 17, 2023, at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Parkway. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, September 18, 2023, at St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church, 5719 St. Mary's Road - Floyd Knobs.
