Richard Metzler Obituary

Richard Joseph Metzler, 92, of Jeffersonville, IN passed away on Saturday, January 15, 2021.

Richard was born November 13th, 1929 in Elgin, IL. In his younger years Richard was a gymnast, enjoyed body building and eventually a pro wrestler. After serving in the Korean War in the Army, he returned home to start a family and begin his career in construction.

Richard very much enjoyed Halloween and Christmas decorating where his sense of humor shined. Richard was a great father to his children and grandchildren, he was involved in many activities with his kids. Trying to list it all would be never a ending story

Richard is survived by 6 children, Gail Orr (John), George Metzler (Lisa), Deborah Frey, Richard M. Metzler (Terri), Shelia Chandler (Brad), and Steve Metzler.

Richard taught his children to be responsible, honest, respectful, and to strive in life. Richard is preceded in death by his wife, and mother of his children, Mary Metzler; and son-in-law, Donald Frey.

We rejoice and celebrate his life and cherish all the good times he created with his family and friends.
