Richard “Dickie” Hoyland, age 89, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Thursday, July 18, 2024. He was born to the late William and Anna Hoyland on April 28, 1935.
Dickie was a lifetime member of Knights of Columbus and a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. He served proudly in the US Army and was stationed in Germany. Proud and dedicated worker, he was employed at the Army Ammunition Plant in Charlestown, Indiana, and most of his life he was a produce manager at both A&P and Olde Town Grocery.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Marcia and daughter, Mary Frances Hoyland.
He is survived by his children, Rick (Crystal) Hoyland, and Tracy (Kari) Hoyland; granddaughter, Jessica (Rodney) Kesler; his great-grandson, Graeham Griffin, and several brothers, sisters and their spouses.
Visitation will be at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Parkway on Monday, July 22 from 2:00 to 8:00 pm and again on Tuesday morning at 9:00 am funeral to follow at 10:00 am. Burial will follow in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.
