Rickey Irvin Brenneman

Rickey Irvin Brenneman, age 61, passed away on January 3, 2025. Born in New Castle, Indiana, to the late Kenneth Irvin and Doris Ellen Brenneman, Rick embodied a life of love, dedication, and unwavering strength.

Rick was the beloved husband of 40 years to his high school sweetheart and best friend, Beth Brenneman. Together, they built a life rooted in love and devotion, creating a legacy that will endure for generations. He was a doting father to Kyle Brenneman (Chelsey) and Kacy Smallwood (Bryan) and a proud and cherished Papa to his grandchildren: Oaklie and Parker Brenneman and Rowen, Ryker, Rogan, and Raleigh Smallwood. Rick’s greatest joy was his family, and he took immense pride in their achievements and shared memories. Also, left to cherish his memory are his sisters, Vickie Collins (Kelly), Trillis McClatchey (Steven), Brenda Lester (Bobby), Lynnette Burge (Matt); and several nieces and nephews.

An Air Force veteran, Rick served his country with honor and integrity. His commitment to service extended into all areas of his life, from his work to his relationships, where he left an indelible mark on everyone he encountered.

Rick was an avid sports enthusiast, cheering passionately for his beloved Dallas Cowboys, Purdue basketball, and Texas football teams. He was also a talented golfer, finding peace and camaraderie on the greens. His warmth, humor, and competitive spirit were evident whether he was perfecting his swing or sharing a laugh with friends and family.

Above all, Rick will be remembered for his steadfast love and faithful service to his family and country. He taught by example, demonstrating kindness, resilience, and humility. Though his absence leaves a profound void, his legacy of love and strength lives on in those he leaves behind.

A celebration of his life and private ceremonies will be held at a later date to honor the incredible man who touched so many hearts.
