Rita Clare (Hobbs) King, of Jeffersonville, IN, passed away peacefully at home on January 30, 2023 at the age of 87.

She was born to the late Samuel and Lelia (Moody) Hobbs on February 19, 1935 in Lawrenceville, IL Later she moved to Martinsburg, IN. then on to Jeffersonville, IN.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 61 1/2 years, Frederick Allen King; her parents, and brother Martin K Hobbs (Indianapolis, IN).

Rita is survived by two daughters, Lisa Dixon and her husband Jeff of Sellersburg, IN, and Lori Haney and her husband Lee of Jeffersonville, IN. Three grandchildren, Jeremy, Aaron, and Katelyn, as well as 4 great grandchildren Mika, Kai, Piper, and Nova.

Rita had been a member of Jehovah’s Witnesses since the 50’s.

Scott Funeral Home has been entrusted with her cremation. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
