Robert Newman Curd, known as Sonny, dad, grandpa Bob, Grouchy Bob and Bob to family and friends passed June 4, 2026 at the age of 92. Bob's parents were Robert Newman and Gladys (Petey) Curd. Bob graduated from New Albany High School and was a member of SKOFF a group of graduates that got together frequently as friends at restaurants, pitch ins, outings etc. Bob was a Corporal in the Army and was a tank instructor during the Korean War. Bob and his wife Jackie raised their four children in the Catholic Faith in Clarksville, Indiana at St Anthonys. He was a member of the Red Men Club. Bob retired from American Synthetic in 1996, 39 years in Louisville, KY.
Bob always enjoyed the country and fishing so much that he and his wife Jackie bought a place in the country and built their home. It was near his mom's house and he could help her out as she aged. He loved to cook and grill out. He enjoyed cruises with his wife, family, and friends. Bob's children, grandchildren and great grandchild visited, where they could hunt, fish, and enjoy many family gatherings and celebrations.
Bob is preceeded in death by his parents and wife Jackie. He is survived by his daughter Terry - grandson Joe (Brandi); son Robert H Curd (Missy) - granddaughter Emily; son James Michael Curd (Sue) - grandson James Casey Curd (Candice) and great grandson Cooper; son Steven E. Curd (Rhonda Walker) - grandson James Robert Curd (Sarah). He also has many nieces and nephews he loved.
A memorial visitation will be held for Robert on Saturday June 13, 2026, from 10:00AM - 12:00PM at Scott Funeral Home (2515 Veteran's Parkway, Jeffersonville, Indiana). Memorial service will follow visitation at 12:00PM, with Pastor Greg Welch officiating.

Bob will be missed by his family and we ask for your prayers, as he leaves us from this place, but remains in our hearts which are filled with love and memories.
