Robert Burdette Johnson

Robert Burdette Johnson, of Jeffersonville, Indiana was called home to his Heavenly Father on November 16, 2023.  Bob was a proud veteran of the United States Navy who served during the Korean War.  He was very strong in his faith as a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.  He attended Southeast Christian Church as well as Wall Street United Methodist Church.  Bob taught mathematics at Western Jr. High, Charlestown High, and Scribner Middle School, until his retirement.  He was an avid tennis player, golfer and pickle ball player until the age of 90.  He always had a crossword puzzle on hand and a jigsaw puzzle in progress.

He was born March 13, 1930 in Dayton, OH to the late Ideson Burdette and Louise Storch Johnson.  Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a step-granddaughter Hannah Elizabeth Taylor.

Bob is survived by his wife of 66 years, Ellen Marie (Williams) Johnson; their daughter, Elizabeth Marie (Matthew) Taylor; daughter, Laura Ellen (Meril) Amos; and son William Caldecott (Susan) Johnson; Brother Dr. William Ideson Johnson, 12 grandchildren Katie, Maggie, Stephen, Phillip, Riley, Drew, Alex, Emily, Eli, Eric, Evan and Ethan, 3 great grandsons Bennett, Theo, Asa and one on the way.

Visitation will be held on November 25th at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Parkway, Jeffersonville, IN  47130 from 10 to 2 with a Celebration of Life to follow at 2 pm.
