Robert (Bob) E Davis

Robert (Bob) E. Davis, 74, of Jeffersonville, IN, passed away on November 25, 2024, at his home surrounded by family.

Bob was born on June 9, 1950, in Canton, IL, the only child of Curtis and Catherine (Phillips) Davis. After graduating from Canton High School (Canton, IL) in 1968, he navigated a diverse career — from high school band teacher to leading expert in nuclear energy and nuclear waste disposal.

Bob married the love of his life, Jane S. (Peters) Davis, on May 29, 1972. Childhood sweethearts, they raised four children: Michael Curtis Davis (Clermont, FL), Angela Rebecca Harp (Jeffersonville, IN), Matthew Todd Davis (Middleton, WI), and Phyllis Lynne Huegel (Phoenix, AZ). The couple sailed together in The Voyageur, their Saint Augustine, FL-based Kadey-Krogen yacht until her passing on September 23, 2015.

In addition to his four children, Bob is survived by eleven grandchildren: Damon Wilson (Scottsburg, IN), Gabrielle Parker (New Albany, IN), Jalen Wilson (Seattle, WA), Xavier Davis (Clermont, FL), Czar Davis (Albuquerque, NM), Quinn and Sullivan Davis (Middleton, WI), Nolan Majer (Clarksville, IN), Joshua Harp (Radcliffe, KY) and his partner Lauren Yaste, Reagan Harp (New Albany, IN), and Avery Harp (New Albany, IN).

He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Sue Peters, nephews, James and Robert Peters (Glasford, IL), daughter-in-law, Devon Davis (Middleton, WI), sons-in-law Sean Harp (Jeffersonville, IN) and Pete Huegel (Phoenix, AZ), as well as two great grandchildren, Luca and Alana Harp (Radcliffe, KY).

Bob is preceded in death by his parents, his parents-in-law, Marion and Marjorie (Danner) Peters, and brother-in-law, John Peters.
