Roberto Castellanos

Roberto Castellanos, age 57, of Jeffersonville, passed away on Friday, September 12, 2025. Born in La Mision, HgO, Mexico to the late Honorio Castellanos and Bonifacia Pérez, Roberto worked more than thirty years for Walnut Ridge Nursery & Garden Center. As crew manager, he kept both the plants and the people in line— a true miracle in itself.

Roberto loved life and lived it joyfully and to the maximum everyday. He never met a stranger, because within minutes he would have them laughing, dancing, or singing along with him. If there was a party, you could bet Roberto was surrounded by friends enjoying the night away.  He was the guy who showed up when you needed help, even if you didn't ask, and he'd bring a friendly smile along with him.  His joy and humor were contagious, and the world is a little quieter without his booming laugh echoing through it.

Roberto leaves behind his wife, Candida Martinez; his daughter, Janet; sons, Eric and Jovani; brothers, Jose, Emilio, and Santos; and sisters, Esperanza, Margarita, Candida, Cristina, and Maria Castellanos.

His family and friends will forever cherish the joy, laughter, and dance moves he brought into their lives.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 PM on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at Scott Funeral Home (2515 Veterans Parkway, Jeffersonville).

Funeral services will follow from 8-9 PM, where we'll celebrate Roberto in the only way he would approve-by laughing, remembering, and encouraging the wonderful friends he has made over his three decades in Indiana.

Roberto Castellanos, 57 años de edad, de Jeffersonville falleció el Viernes, 12 de Septiembre, 2025. Nació en La Misión, Hgo, México de los padres Honorio Castellanos y Bonifacia Pérez, Roberto trabajó más de treinta años para Walnut Ridge Vivero y Centro de Jardín. Como gerente de equipo el mantenía ambo las plantas y la personas en línea - un verdadero milagro en sí mismo. 

Roberto amaba la vida y la vivía alegremente y al máximo diariamente. El nunca conoció a un extraño porque en minutos los tenía riendo, bailando, o cantando junto a el. Si había una fiesta podrías apostar que Roberto estaba rodeado de amigos disfrutando de la noche. El era el hombre que estaba ahí cuando necesitabas ayuda, aunque no se lo hubieras pedido, y traía con el una amable sonrisa. Su felicidad y humor eran contagiosos, y el mundo es un poco más silencioso sin su risa retumbante resonando en el ambiente. 

Roberto deja atrás a su esposa, Cándida Martínez; su hija Janet; hijos, Eric y Jovani; hermanos, José, Emilio, Santos; y hermanas, Esperanza, Margarita, Candida, Cristina, y Maria Castellanos. Su familia y amigos siempre valorarán la felicidad, risa, y movimientos de baile que el trajo a sus vidas.

Habrá horas de visita abiertas al público de 5-8 PM el Sábado, 27 de Septiembre, 2025 en la Funeraria Scott, Scott Funeral Home (2515 Veterans Parkway, Jeffersonville).

Siguiendo habrá un servicio fúnebre de 8-9 PM donde celebraremos a Roberto de la única manera que el hubiera querido - riendo, recordando, y alentando a los gran amigos que el ha hecho durante sus tres décadas en Indiana.
