A memorial service for Ruthjeanne Aigner will be held on Monday, January 26, 2015 at 5:30 PM with visitation from 2-5 PM at Scott funeral home, 2515 Veterans Pkwy, Jeffersonville, IN.
Ruthjeanne Aigner, 99, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, January 21, 2015.
She was preceded in death by her parents, D.G. and Melvina Carr; her husband of 52 years, Emerson "Ump" Aigner, and her brother, Bud Carr.
She is survived by 2 nieces, Donna Edwards and Barbie Hartness; 8 great-nieces and nephews; one great- great niece; and one great- great nephew; cousins Cathy Magnus, Karen Eaker, Patty Barron, Janet Scwartz; 10 second cousins, and 7 third cousins; her dear friends, Nancy Holland, Vicki O'Bannon, Sue Cox, Billy Boehnlein and Dennis Leuthart; and her beloved dog Abby.
Born December 27,1915 in Indianapolis, Indiana, she lived a full and complete life. She was a graduate of Jeffersonville High School and received her Bachelor's degree in Home Economics from Purdue University in 1938. She worked for Colgate as their Benefits Coordinator for 32 years. She was gifted with many talents. She was an avid golfer and was known and loved for her quick wit and fun-loving personality. She was a true sports fan but her Purdue team held a special place in her heart. She had a wide range of friends of all ages and will be missed by those who know and love her. Donations can be made to the Humane Society of Jeffersonville, Indiana.
Cremation was chosen and Scott Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
