Sandra Kay Smith, transitioned into Heaven on February 11, 2024, at the age of 77. She was born on March 25, 1946, to the late Wilbur and Mildred Hessig.
Sandy dedicated her life to her faith and family, serving as an elder at St. Luke's United Church of Christ. Her commitment to her church community was unwavering, and she touched the lives of many through her compassionate spirit and devotion.
As a proud member of the Sigma Phi Gamma sorority, Sandy embraced leadership roles and actively contributed to the sisterhood. Her involvement demonstrated her commitment to building strong bonds and supporting her fellow sorority members.
One of the great joys of Sandy’s life was the companionship she shared with her beloved husband. Together, they explored the world, creating cherished memories during their travels. Their passion for automobiles led them to become founding members of the Falls City Mustang Club in 1995, where they forged lasting friendships with fellow enthusiasts.
Sandy will be remembered most for her role as a devoted wife, nurturing mother, and adoring grandma. Her love and care were the cornerstones of her family, and her legacy will continue through the lives of those she touched. Whether baking cookies with her grandchildren or offering a listening ear, Sandy's warmth and generosity left a priceless mark on the hearts of all who knew her.
Left to cherish Sandy’s memory, she leaves behind; her loving husband, Charles Smith, of 60 years; her children; Jennifer Ellis (Derek), Todd Smith (Molly), Jason Smith (Tonya); her grandchildren; Drew Ellis (Hannah), Ian Ellis (Kelsey), Jack Ellis, Katy Smith, Emily Smith, Claire Smith, and Alex Smith; her sisters; Tracie Olivera, Linda Goff, Stephanie Olges, and Rena Jenkins.
