Sara Ann McCarroll, age 51, passed away peacefully on September 12, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by her loving family. A devoted wife, mother, Grammy, Grandma, and daughter, Sara’s life was a testament to strength, compassion, and unwavering love.
She was the beloved wife of William "Trooper" McCarroll, her partner in life and in love. Together they shared countless cherished memories. As a mother, Sara’s heart was her family’s anchor, always offering unconditional support, guidance, and warmth. To her grandchildren, she was Grammy and Grandma—a constant source of joy, laughter, and boundless love.
Sara dedicated her life to the service of others, working as a Registered Nurse. Her expertise, gained from earning her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), was matched only by her deep empathy and commitment to the well-being of her patients. For Sara, nursing was more than a career—it was a calling, and she touched countless lives with her kindness and care.
A pillar of strength for her family, Sara’s heart was always open, and her hands were always busy helping those she loved. Whether it was a family gathering, a friend in need, or simply lending a listening ear, she was the rock that held everyone together. She was a member at Southeast Christian Church in Southern Indiana.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Steven Satterfield.
She is survived by her husband, Trooper McCarroll; children, Cody King (Natalie), Catie Hurt (Joseph), and Conner King (Brittany); grandchildren, Penny, Ellie, Carter, Kinsey, Maisie, Grayson, Waylon, and Beckham; parents, Dennis and Sandy Satterfield; brothers, Eric Satterfield (Patty), Aaron Satterfield (Kristle), and Adam Satterfield (Chelsea); and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.
In accordance with her wishes, Sara’s family will honor her with cremation. A memorial visitation celebrating her life, love, and legacy will be held 2-7 p.m. Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Parkway – Jeffersonville.
