Savio Menezes Obituary

Savio Menezes, 59, of Charlestown, Indiana, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by the love of his family, on February 22, 2026, at 6:16 p.m. Born on May 17, 1966, in Bombay, India, he was the cherished son of Herman and Mina Menezes.

Savio shared 38 beautiful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Manjiri—who he affectionately called “Lovu”—the love of his life and his steadfast partner through every joy and challenge. Together they built a life filled with laughter, strength, and unwavering devotion. He was a loving and doting father to his son, Shirin (Andrea), and his greatest pride and joy came from being “Pappy” to his four adorable grandchildren—Maverick, Baron, Olivia, and Oliver—who were the heart of his happiness and the light of his life.

A true warrior at heart, Savio faced a lifetime of health challenges with extraordinary courage, resilience, and grace. Through it all, he never allowed his loved ones to feel the weight of his struggles—his strength and optimism remained a constant source of comfort for his family. His strength inspired everyone who knew him. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Manjiri; his son, Shirin (Andrea); his four treasured grandchildren; his father, Herman; his sisters, Zelia (Jeff) and Michelle (Tim); and his dear in‑laws in India—his mother‑in‑law,  Anuradha Datar, whom he lovingly called Aai - mother; his sister‑in‑law, Vrushali Datar; and his brother‑in‑law, Milind (Kirty) Datar. He now joins his mother, Mina; grandmother, Doris; and godmother, Mary, in eternal peace.

Savio will forever be remembered for his generous heart, his quiet humor, and the joy he found in life’s simplest moments—whether behind a camera capturing beauty or lost in the melodies he cherished. His spirit lives on in the family he so deeply loved, an everlasting presence woven into their laughter, their strength, and their memories. Though his voice has fallen silent, his love echoes softly still—in every sunrise that warms the heart, in every note of music that stirs the soul, in every shared memory that reminds us of a life so full of light.
