Sharon Coots, of Charlestown, IN passed away peacefully on January 17 at the age of 86 after being diagnosed with ALS earlier last year. Born on October 11, 1939 in Jeffersonville she lived most of her life in Charlestown where she considered herself a life-long resident.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Sharon is survived by her husband of 68 years, Dana, sons; Chris (Julie), Tim, Scott (Angela), grandchildren; Adam, Abby Falcone (Chase), Tanner, Preston, Logan, Reagan and great- granddaughter Elsie Falcone as well as many other extended family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents Christopher and Margaret Eadens, brother Richard Eadens and great-granddaughter Palmer Falcone.
She married her high school sweetheart Dana and instantly became a farm wife. Although she would often joke about all the things that came with it, she enjoyed being a farm wife and stayed very busy raising a family in that setting. She appreciated the many varied activities that allowed her to be out and about.
In their early years she and Dana loved to dance and they could always be found on the dance floor of any event where there was music. Friends meant everything to Sharon and she was blessed with many including her Friday-night dinner group.
Sharon was also an avid reader as she found time to do volunteer work with the Charlestown Public Library, which later led to a 43-year career with the Charlestown High School Library. She loved being there with the kids, teachers and of course the books.
Cremation has been chosen, and memorial services will be conducted at a later date.
