Obituary
Sharon Sue Toby, 76, passed away peacefully and entered the Heavenly Gates on Sunday, August 27, 2023.
Sharon was born in Evarts, Kentucky to the late Orville and Sybil Scott. She served her family faithfully as a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She spent more than 30 years at the United States Census Bureau, and was a member of the Graceland Baptist Choir.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Gary “Butch”.
Survivors include her loving husband of 58 years, Dennis “Denny” Toby Sr.; children, Dennis Toby Jr. (Doranne) and Shannon Maddox (Chris); grandchildren, Jennifer Toby (Lance) and Brecken Maddox; great-grandchildren, Jenna, Blake, Luke, Ella, and Caleb; siblings, Janie, Beverly, and Greg.
Visitation will be 2-7 p.m. Thursday, August 31, 2023, at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Parkway – Jeffersonville. Funeral services in celebration of her life will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, September 1, 2023, at Scott Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Abundant Life Memorial Gardens of Graceland Baptist Church, 3600 Kamer Miller Road – New Albany.
