Sharon "Sherry" Kay Wright

Sharon “Sherry” Kay Wright, age 73, went home to be with Jesus on December 13, 2023.

She was a loyal member of Christ Gospel Church for 48 years, serving her Lord and Saviour.  “Sherry” graduated from John Brown University with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education. She continued as a teacher and tutor, touching the lives of many. 

Sharon was much loved by family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Guy and Freida Simpson and her sister, Treva Ratliff.

Sharon is survived by her husband and companion of 48 years, Robert “Bob” Wright; son, Jonathan Wright (Kinue); daughter, Melody Pym (James); brothers, Bob Simpson (Michelle) and Randy Simpson (Debbie); grandchildren, Geoffrey, Joshua, Caleb and Heidi Pym, and Samuel and Rebekah Wright and “adoptive” grandchildren, Novian and Christian Stringer.

Visitation will be at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Parkway, Jeffersonville, IN on Monday, December 18 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm and again at Christ Gospel Church, Jeffersonville, IN on Tuesday, December 19 from 10:00 to 11:00 am with the funeral service at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in Walnut Ridge Cemetery.
