Sherry Lynn Griffin, 71, a vibrant soul who lived for her family, passed away on Friday, January 12, 2024, in New Albany, Indiana. She was born on April 29, 1952, to the late George and Rachel Boganowski in Louisville, KY. Sherry's life was a testament to love, laughter, and a deep connection with those around her. A devoted wife, mom, mimi, and nanny, Sherry's love knew no bounds. Blessed with the gift of gab, she had an outgoing personality that endeared her to everyone she met. Sherry never knew a stranger; she simply loved people, and in return, everyone cherished her. Her warmth and affection were as boundless as her love for the U of L Cardinals, proudly cheering for her favorite team. Sherry had a great sense of humor, coupled with quick wit, making her the life of any gathering. Unapologetically set in her ways, she navigated life with grace and charm. As a member of the Active Older Adults (AOA), she relished the camaraderie and joy of group trips, creating cherished memories along the way. Sherry spent endless hours involved with the Jeff GRC Little League concession stand, and her involvement at the Clark Co. YMCA marked her role in the Coffee Mafia, where she served as the self-proclaimed PR rep. Sherry found joy in being part of a community, forging bonds over shared moments and a good cup of coffee. In her spare time, she indulged in games of bunco and bingo, finding pleasure in the simple joys of life. Sherry's adventurous spirit led her to her favorite casinos. These trips were more than just games of chance; they were opportunities to create stories and laughter that would be cherished for a lifetime. Sherry Lynn Griffin's legacy is one of love, laughter, and an unwavering commitment to family and friends. As we say our goodbyes, let us celebrate a life well-lived and a spirit that will forever remain in our hearts. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, George and Rachel Boganowski, Sherry is preceded in death by a son, Denny Griffin Jr.; and a sister, Barbara Perkins.
Left to cherish her memory, Sherry leaves behind her loving husband of 38 years, Denny Griffin; 3 children, Danielle Griffin (Melissa), Denise Boesche (Daniel), and Paul Nachand; 8 grandchildren, Allison Fox (John), Lindsey Smothers (Cody), Tiffany Wiechman (Neal), Brody Norman, Brayden Griffin, Paul Nachand Jr., Connor Boesche, and Peyton Boesche; 6 great-grandchildren, Talon Fox, Ryland Fox, Sterling Smothers, Jett Smothers, Lucy Wiechman, and Millie Wiechman; sister, Fran McCoy (Fred); 5 granddogs; and a host of extended family and close friends.
