Shirley Marie Bishop

Shirley Bishop, 85, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, passed away peacefully on October 12, 2024. Born on April 3, 1939, in West Hempstead, Long Island, New York, Shirley lived a life full of creativity, love, and dedication.

She worked for many years with the Air Guard Manufacturing in New Albany, where her professionalism and hard work were valued. Outside of work, Shirley’s passions were crafting and jewelry-making, creating beautiful, dazzling pieces that reflected her artistic spirit.

Shirley also cherished spending time with her family, always finding joy in being surrounded by loved ones. In her leisure, she delighted in immersing herself in science fiction shows, indulging her fascination with fantastical stories and imaginative world.

In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her daughter, Joyce Meredith; son, Stoy Marcum Jr.; husband, Walter Bishop. She is survived by her daughter, Roxane Sparrow (Johnny); son Troy Marcum (Josie); sister, Linda Abrams; along with 11 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren and one great- great grandchild. She also is survived by her two precious fur babies Daisy and Tinkerbell.

A celebration of Shirley's life will be held on Sunday, October 20, 2024 from 1-4pm with service to follow at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Parkway, Jeffersonville, Indiana 47130.
