Shirley Ann Osborn Risinger, age 93, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 26, 2026, in Tennessee, surrounded by the love of her family.
She was born on May 28, 1932, in Jeffersonville, Indiana, to Joseph and Janet Osborn. Shirley was a proud lifelong resident of Indiana, a place she always considered home. Though she spent her final days in Tennessee, her heart never left Indiana, where she now rests once more.
As an owner of Osborn Service, Shirley was a respected presence in her community for many years. Her incredible work ethic and commitment to serving others left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
Shirley found joy in the simple and meaningful things in life. She always loved animals, especially her cat, Harley. Shirley had a special passion for growing flowers, taking great pride in creating breathtaking landscapes. She also cherished traveling with her beloved husband, Sonny, sharing a lifetime of memories and adventures together.
Shirley was deeply devoted to her family. She found her greatest joy in the roles of mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and she nurtured those relationships with unwavering love, strength and care. Her selfless legacy will live on in the generations she has shaped.
She is survived by her beloved granddaughter, Shana Miller; her great-grandsons, Walter and Cooper Miller; her nieces, JoAnn Galligan, Kathy Young (Richard), Janet Tomazin (Rick), Sandra Garrett (Ken), and Cindy Barger; her nephews, Michael Vissing, Gary Vissing (Robin), and Robert Samuels, Jr.; as well as many great-nieces and great-nephews who will continue to carry her memory forward.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James “Sonny” Risinger; her sons, Richard Risinger and Lynn Risinger; her sister, Martha Vissing (Bill); her parents, Joseph and Janet Osborn; her niece, Diann Murphy and her brother-in-law, Robert Sr. and her sister-in-law, Raymie Samuels.
Visitation will be held on Monday, May 4, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Parkway, Jeffersonville, Indiana 47130. A Graveside service will follow at 12:00 p.m. at Walnut Ridge.
Shirley will be remembered for her resilience, her generous spirit, and the quiet strength that defined her life. She leaves behind a legacy of love, family, and dedication that will endure for generations.
Her memory will forever be treasured by those who knew and loved her.
