Shirley Ann Palazzo, born on January 26, 1937 to George and Beatrice Mullin in Pennsville, New Jersey, passed away peacefully in her sleep during the early morning hours of Friday October 11, 2024. The wife of an Italian country boy, Antonio Palazzo, she was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, and volunteering. She was a member of the Clark County Extension Homemakers Club and The Girls Quilt Club. She was a teacher’s aide at Thomas Jefferson Elementary and Eastlawn Elementary, and volunteered weekly at Meals On Wheels for nearly 20 years. She felt at home while listening and giving to others. She always offered a mindful ear and a compassionate heart. If she wasn’t busy helping others, you could either find her quilting in her living room or in her backyard tending to her beautiful garden. Above all, Shirley loved to spend time with her seventeen grandchildren and twenty-three great-grandchildren. For decades, it became a Friday night tradition for Shirley, known lovingly as Mom-Mom amongst family, to cook her famous homemade pasta for her grandchildren, always with a promise of ice cream in exchange for a clean plate. She was and will forever be a beautiful light.
