Sonya Renee Hedge

Sonya R. Hedge, born March 6, 1966, passed away peacefully on December 27, 2025, in Louisville, leaving behind a legacy of love, music, and devotion to family.

Sonya’s greatest joy in life was her sons. She loved them fiercely and unconditionally, always placing their happiness and well-being above all else. Family was the center of her world, and she created a home filled with warmth, laughter, and deep connection. Her love continues to live on through each of them and the lives they touch.

A woman of many talents, Sonya had a beautiful voice and a passion for music. She loved singing in a band, sharing her joy and spirit through song. Music was one of the ways she expressed her heart, and those who heard her sing will always remember the light she brought into the room.

She is survived by her loving sons, Nathaniel (Madison), Matthew, Caleb, and Isaiah Hedge; her cherished granddaughter, Kitt; and her beloved siblings, Dawn Spurlock (Jace), Belinda Hocker (Tony), and Virginia Bryant (Roy). She is also remembered fondly by extended family and friends who were blessed to know her.

Sonya was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Brent Hedge, and her parents, Roy and JeQuita Hall, whom she now joins in eternal peace.

A celebration of Sonya’s beautiful life will be held on Friday, January 2, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Parkway, Jeffersonville, Indiana 47130.

Sonya’s love, voice, and gentle spirit will be forever missed, but her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and all who loved her.
