Stephen Dale Browne, 77, of Charlestown, Indiana, went Home to be with the Lord while surrounded by his family at 4:02 pm, on December 15, 2025, at Baptist Health Floyd Hospital. He was born on April 7, 1948 in Hume, New York. He was retired from Pillsbury, where he had been a dedicated employee for twenty years, and was a long-time, faithful member of the Branham Tabernacle.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia; son, Thomas (Angela); son, Johnathan; daughter, Melissa; son, William (Catherine); son, Stephen J; sister, Coni Hodsdon; brother, Harrison (Bonnie); grandchildren, Elizabeth, Matthew, Danielle, Madison, Morgan, Wesley, Calvin, and Owen. He is preceded in passing by his father, Martin Browne and mother, Bertha Browne.
Stephen was born the son of Martin Malcom and Bertha May (Hobert) Browne. He grew up in a loving, Christian home with his father being a minister of the Gospel till the family accepted the Message in the early 1960s. He joined the United States Air Force in 1967 during the Vietnam War and proudly served his country as Security Police, guarding Minute Man Missiles in South Dakota, before being honorably discharged, early, due to his father's health. In 1968 he married his sweetheart and raised a family in Western New York until relocating to Jeffersonville, Indiana in 1993. Stephen was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather and he shared many happy times with his family, which often centered around a great love for hunting and fishing. He was also musically inclined, playing the trumpet and always strumming his favorite hymns on the guitar. The most important thing in Stephen's life was the Message of the Hour. He heard and accepted the Voice of Malachi 4 as a young man and stood firm in his faith, as a Tape Boy, till going to meet his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
“Till we meet again”
“For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.”
1 Thessalonians 4:14-17
A public visitation will be held from 4-8 PM on Thursday, December 18, 2025 at Scott Funeral Home (2515 Veterans Parkway, Jeffersonville). A private funeral service for immediate family will be held at the Branham Tabernacle.
