Stephen Lloyd Schinke

Stephen Lloyd Schinke, 72, passed away at home on April 29, 2026. Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Orville and Lorene (Sheppard) Schinke; his stepmother, Marjorie (Neufeld) Schinke; and brother-in-law Wilfred “Lenny” Veins. Steve is survived by his wife, Georgia “Gee Gee” (Fowler) Schinke and daughters Jennifer (Jeffery Kendrick) and Jo Schinke (Gregory Fein). He is also survived by his brothers Michael (Rhonda) Schinke, Douglas Schinke, and Daniel (Deana) Schinke, and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Steve was born in Flint, Michigan. He earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Marshall University and a master’s degree in systems management from the University of Southern California. After graduating from Marshall, he served for four years active duty in the U.S. Army and four additional years in the National Guard. 

Steve’s last job before retirement was as an Account Manager with Electronic Data Systems (later Hewlett-Packard). He retired in 2015 to enjoy playing golf and grilling on his deck. He was also a voracious reader, and passed that love on to his children.

Per his wishes, there will be no funeral service.
