Stephen "Steve" Bottorff Obituary

Bottorff, Stephen, J., (Steve), 78 of Jeffersonville, Indiana passed away Thursday, February 5, 2026 surrounded by his family.  

Steve was a proud graduate of Indiana State University and a devoted member of Sigma Phi Epsilon Delta Chapter.  He was a treasured educator of Industrial Arts for Greater Clark Schools, 1970-2002.  Steve was an active member of the Clark County Casting and Conservation Club and the Jeffersonville Eagles. 

Steve brightened every room he entered and put a smile in the heart of everyone he met.  He entertained his family and friends with boundless humor and joy.  He will be remembered for his timeless style, charisma, and thoughtfulness.  His bright light will be missed by many. 

He was preceded in death by his mother Carolyn and stepfather Dr. A. L. Roby; father Donald. He is survived by his wife Mary Carol (Bush); children Tommy (Kristen) and Kristofer Board (Lisa); granddaughters Nina and Bella; best friend Socks (the cat); sister Candice; brother Kevin (Barb); nephews Sean and Adam (Jessica) and great-nephew, Connor, great-nieces Carter and  Annabelle; stepmother Fran; half-siblings Emory (Karen), Jennifer McKenzie (Bill), and Matt (Jennifer).

The family wishes to thank the nurses at Norton’s Cancer Institute, and the ICU staff at Norton’s Hospital Brownsboro for their kindness and compassion.

A celebration of life is pending.  Scott Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.

Memorial donations may be made to Jeffersonville Animal Hospital.
