Thomas Paul Nelson, 64, went Home to be with his Heavenly Father on Wednesday, February 19, 2025. A man of unwavering faith and dedication and larger-than-life presence, Tom built a lasting legacy in the water and waste water management industry, where he spent decades as a respected business owner and sought-after professional. His hard work and integrity left a profound impact on those he worked with and the community he served.
Beyond his profession, Tom found joy in the simple and meaningful moments of life. He was a passionate fan of the Dallas Cowboys (America’s Team), cheering them on with unwavering loyalty, and had a deep appreciation for the beauty and power of Corvettes. Whether casting a line into the water or strumming his guitar in worship at Greenville Christian Church, his love of life was evident in everything he did.
Above all, he will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. His warmth, kindness, and larger-than-life spirit touched the lives of so many, leaving behind cherished memories that will be held close forever.
He was affectionately known by many as “Uncle Tommy” and was deeply loved by children, and his heart for others was expressed through his labors of love, which flowed from an abundance of his faith. He had a giving spirit, and was always willing to lend a helping hand, share his wisdom, and brighten the lives of those around him with acts of kindness and generosity.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Evelyn; grandson, Elijah Folden; and brother, Danny Nelson.
Survivors include his loving wife, Dottie Nelson; children, Brooke Folden (Richie), Chase Nelson (Lacey), and Ben Stocksdale (Jenna); grandchildren, Isabel Sirles, Grant Folden, Asher Folden, Hannah Stocksdale, Madelyn Stocksdale, and Sam Stocksdale; brother, Jerry Scott; and step-mother, Phyllis Nelson.
