Vera Amelia Morrow

Vera Amelia Morrow, age 76, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 4, 2024. Born on May 22, 1948, in Louisville, Kentucky, Vera was the cherished daughter of the late Robert and Ruth Penrose.

Vera will be lovingly remembered as a devoted wife, a nurturing mother, and a steadfast friend to all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Her warmth and kindness touched the lives of everyone she encountered, leaving behind countless cherished memories.

Vera found joy in the simple pleasures of life: taking long walks that brought her peace, working through word searches with quiet determination, and joining her neighbors in engaging activities that brought a sense of community to her apartment home. Her laughter, gentle spirit, and love of connection enriched the lives of all who shared in her company.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Morrow.

Vera’s unwavering love and devotion to her family and friends will forever remain an inspiration. While she will be deeply missed, her legacy of compassion and kindness will live on in the hearts of those she loved. Survivors include her daughters, Angela Wright and Jennifer VanPelt (Kane); sister-in-law, Pauline Wright; fiancé, Larry Ballinger; niece Pamela Penrose; and nephew, Robert Penrose.

Visitation will be held 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Parkway – Jeffersonville. Funeral services in honor of her life will be celebrated 1 p.m. Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at the funeral home, with burial to follow.
