Virginia Lee Thomas

Virginia Lee Thomas, age 91, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 10, 2024. Born to the late Allan and Mary Thomas, Virginia was the youngest of 10 children. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, known affectionately as "Goomie" to her cherished grandchildren.

Virginia had a deep love for animals, her nurturing spirit extended beyond her family to every living thing she encountered. Her warmth, gentle demeanor, and love of life were felt by everyone who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter, Heather Holden; and siblings, Margaret Hume, Wilma Fisher, Helen Caudill, Betty Thomas, Bertha Bottorff, Goldie Doughty, Elizabeth Harell, John “Pete” Thomas, and Otha Thomas.

Virginia will be remembered most for her unwavering love for her family. She is survived by her children, Rick Holden and Betty Hogan; grandchildren, Matthew Holden and Bailey Hogan; great-grandchildren, Ke’Yana, Kayden, and Kyrie; and many nieces and nephews.

A private family service will be held to honor Virginia's life and her body laid to rest at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Jeffersonville.
