William "Bill" Wesley Human

William Wesley “Bill” Human, 60, passed away peacefully in his sleep on December 22, 2025, in Jeffersonville, Indiana. He was born in Torrance, California, to the late Jimmy and Beverly Human.

Bill was a mechanic by trade and worked at Jeffboat for more than 17 years until its closure in 2018. Friends and family could always rely on Bill to help with any mechanical problem. “If there’s a Bill, there’s a way” was often said of him. If he couldn’t fix something outright, he would find a way to rig it and make it work.

He is survived by his brothers, Jim Human (Carolyn) of California and David Human of Tennessee; his nephews, Nick and Cody Human; his bonus son, Matthew Douglas (Haydee) of Kuwait; and his stepdaughters, Katrina Stanley of Elizabethtown and Carly Stanley of Jeffersonville.

He also leaves behind his special friends, Carly Watkins and Jacqueline Stoner, as well as his ex-wife, Linda Human, all of Jeffersonville.

A Celebration of Life for Bill will be held on Monday, January 12, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Parkway, Jeffersonville, Indiana 47130.

In memory of Bill, family and friends are encouraged to visit Red Yeti in Jeffersonville, Indiana, to raise a toast in his honor. It was Bill’s favorite place, and the kindness and friendship shown to him there during his final years meant a great deal to him and his loved ones.
