William Eugene “Buddy” Spangler, 79, of Jeffersonville, IN, passed away on August 28, 2024 surrounded by his family. 

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at Christ Gospel Church, 2614 E. 10th Street, Jeffersonville, IN, with burial to follow at Walnut Ridge Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 2 to 8 PM on Tuesday at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Parkway, Jeffersonville, IN, and after 9 AM on Wednesday at the church.

Buddy was born on June 3, 1945 in Ft. Sill, OK, and was a proud Veteran of the United States Army, serving in the 4th Infantry in Vietnam in 1966 and 1967.  Professionally, he was a skilled Artisan, working as an Architectural Sheet Metal Worker.

He was a man of God and served his faith as a Reverend of Christ Gospel Church in Moline, IL, South Bend, IN, Owensboro, KY, and Kennett, MO.  Buddy was a loving husband to his wife Margaret, a caring father, grandfather, great-grandfather and faithful friend.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry Lee and Mary Lou Spangler; and sister, Sandy.

He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Margaret Spangler; children, William “Bud” Spangler Jr., Garland Spangler (Elizabeth), Tonya Steyn, Franny Bottorff, Chrissy Curtis and Waylon Williams; sisters, Doris Sparks and Katie Grubs; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
